Swingline Armee Pille

Austria - High Tauern - Kitzsteinhorn

Feichtner Schacht (2573 / 3) grows to about 5.5 km:
the 15th-31.3.2007 took place again the research KKTJ Krakow in Feichtner bay. Including the research director, Andrzej Ciszewski 13 people were involved.
Starting from the bivouac to approximately-450m have been studied in the 2 weeks slightly more than 400 gears and shafts and measured . The length is now about 5.5 km.

Austria - Dachstein

Update on the Dachstein - south wall cavity (1543/28) grows to over 10 km in length.
The survey and exploration of the south wall cavity is continuing. From 07th to 10 June 2007 led by Heidi André, Ernest Geyer, Peter and Robert Seebacher Jeutter further research and survey tour. goal of this tour was to investigate the possible continuations of the giants in the field course "Paläoenns" and their photographic documentation . This was in the lower section of this magnificent canal built the spa bivouac. Next, level and dry sandy soil, and absolutely no significant weather guide this camping site to make a 4-star cave district.
could from this base from the one accompanying Paläoenns, Canyon are active and duct system and survey on more than 750 m in length measured . A stream with considerable bulk flows through a particularly beautiful section of the cave. Although these parts were already committed their processing yielded some interesting and important information. several starting points for a possible circumvention of the end Lehmsiphons were found.
An excavation action in this oversized, the final Paläoenns Sedimentpfropfen enabled it to penetrate a few meters. Whether it is possible to overcome this powerful passage closure in this way, can be currently estimated as yet.
An extensive photo tour, in which mainly the 25 m wide, 15-20 m high and 400 m long Paläoenns, and about 100 m high curtain served as case subjects completed the work. Total
again a very nice and successful trip. The measured total length of the south wall cavity
climbed to an impressive 10 107 m . (Robert Seebacher, 6.2007)

Are Men With Big Noses Hot

Austria - Tennengebirge-Kuchelberg / Roeth

summary report of the first research trips in 2007 in the snow hole system (1511 / 7):
since mid-May 2007 to run this year's research in snow hole. Extended research on the 3 weekends involved in changing cast: Dirk Peinelt, Steffen van Recum, Jürgen Zottola, Markus Findeiß, Thomas Munz, Amadeus Finally, Sabine Bittner, Mirjam stalks, Stefan Schubert and Frank Schlöffel.
In the snow hole was already End of 2006 a new and fast ascent in the region of large tour be discovered: it was here so far this year to several research-u. Surveying trips, with us for now particularly interested in the rising area. This runs parallel to the upper main canal system but at a slightly lower level in SW direction, towards the plateau and could have further potential up as the very near surface extending upper main canal system, which is blocked in the SW by Verbrüche.
In upper main canal system , the research and measurement at the endpoint of the last year, the Koekebakschluf continued. About the Rawetegang achieved the highest ever known point of the snow hole to +132 meters. The measurement of a final 30m blind shaft brought the surprise at half height of the shaft was a Prallelschacht be discovered on which there is another large-scale pit followed - now all in there: another deep canyon bay area, large-scale horizontal course of just over 1600m-line or on a deeper level than the big tour penetrate further into the plateau.
In the second road was in the toothbreaker exploration wells completed some final question mark, measure last meter, the Bivouac reduced, expanded the ropes below the tooth crusher bays and already brought a lot of material to the surface.
508m have been measured so far this year in the snow hole, the ganglion. is currently at 7918m.
- In the last year discovered Muren shaft (. Ggl.: 434m, Gt:-58m) will continue to struggle for connection to the maximum of 8 m away snow hole (region snake-throat Hoonithendom). A 10-hour tour dig further shortened the distance though, the connection was not yet.
- The bellows, the candidate per se, for a new access to the highest snow hole was enlarged at the entrance a large area. On the basis of the 18m deep entrance shaft was able to access the next big bay are already partially exposed, a further application is necessary to eliminate, however, last obstacles.
- the surprise tube was discovered in 2006 and explored. Measuring the small-scale horizontal cave was this year: Length 56m, depth 13m (Frank Schlöffel, 6.2007)

Blood In Flem With Glandular Fever

Austria - Dead Mountain - Almberg

research tour in Almberg Cave System (1624/018)
Participants: Thomas Baynes (FHKF, VHO), Martin Harder (FHKF), Wilfried Lorenz (FHKF, VHO), Thomas-Michael Schneider (FHKF, VHO), Thomas Weingartner (FHKF)
From 6 to 10.06.2007 again, a major research tour during the Almberg cave system.
goal was to continue the survey work in the upper branch of the Almberg ice and stalactite cave that were there started about 4 weeks from us.
Since the beginning we in search of the two compounds with the snow cone cavity of pages Almberg the ice and stalactite cave we had discovered a year ago in the snow cones cave. Various descriptions of manholes in old records but led us to, not from the snow cone cavity through the Almberg- Ice and stalactite cave to the outside, but on the contrary, measured from the entrance to the direction of women in snow cone cavity. In the last tour turned out that the requested connection between Panama Canal and Broadway is not possible since both are in different parts of the cave floors with 100m height difference. Our survey, however, led us up to about 200m, 50m and higher, closer to the second link on Scherbensiphon. So we decided on this tour, but now find the connection to address the part of the snow cone cave, because you can save about 3 hours thereby advancing the Almberg ice and stalactite cave.
But it ultimately quite different: in the unknown parts of us Almberg ice and stalactite cave that start behind the Scherbensiphon the snow cone cave come, we move it quickly, but instead of upwards, towards Broadway, spacious cave passages lead us deeper and deeper down. Finally, we come out in a striking hall with stream, we can use the old, inaccurate sketch plan clearly identified as a hall of the Rio Negro. The Rio Negro is likely, however, in this area do not be! He is in the plan, in the western branch of the Almberg ice and stalactite cave. Only about 200m further we eventually find even "our" Panama Canal and to the second connection between Almberg ice and snow cone cave and cave. The Sensation is perfect. In three days we create through our surveying a 700m long Rundzug, the now a grueling trail in the heart of the cave system formed. Broadway and thus our measurement of the last tour we do not reach from here. Since this part, however, about 100m above it and has many large bays, all of which are not run, there remains the possibility of ring closure by the Broadway.
were on the edge from up to 14 hours, 5 day trips also stations for a permanent Eismonitoring installed. The purpose of this equipment is the detection of volume changes, and movements within the large Masseneisvorkommen in the snow cones cave.
Conclusion: Extremely strenuous tour in a fascinating caves, 72 lightless hours and many successes, thanks to a perfect team, are behind us. The study of Almberg cave system is a significant step forward. (Thomas-Michael Schneider, 6.2007)
