VHO Research Week High Angern 2007
The results of the Research Week 2006 was the period of 18 - 25 August 2007 again a VHO researchers camp in higher Angern dead in the eastern mountains performed. The base camp was again north of the Gruber-Koppen built at an altitude of 1,920 meters. total of seven caves are processed.
Participants: Heidi Andre (Munich), Ernest Geyer (Altenmarkt bei St. Gallen), Sebastian Kogler (Bad Mitterndorf), Franz Schmidt (Weissbach at Liezen) and Robert Seebacher (Bad Mitterndorf).
results:
three already known caves were first edited:
Superdoline (1634/51, 129 m, -33 m). The cave was bewettert strong and has a 20 m deep shaft sequel, due to lack of rope could not be driven. Portions of the horizontal canal are covered with ice.
Hochanger Tray 2 (1634/57, 129 m, -33 m) . This shaft is more or less a major breakdown in a prominent geological fault line. About a 15 deep descents, one reaches a eiserfüllten room. One possible response is continued zugeeist.
Hochanger Bay 3 (1634/58). The shaft has a connection with Hochanger Tray 2
Three caves were surveying continue:
Torkoppeneishöhle (1634/100, 811 m, -105 m). At the end of was known parts climbed a 30 m high pressure-ridge. The cave is located along the gap direction is continuing, and later divided into several very narrow or unschliefbare transitional passages. This cave bewettert parts are strong. The ice cream stand in comparison to other ice caves, where in recent years an increased melting noticeable increase slightly. (Observation period 2000/2007)
GRUB bay-109 (1634/109, 1793 m, -274 m ). This object is the largest and deepest cave in the high green field. Based on the 2006 discovered extensive horizontal parts, it was a rope down another, very large steep transition to achieve. Unfortunately, it ends up to 8 m wide and 10 m high gear after about 100 m of a sediment cap. Noteworthy for those parts of the cave are powerful ground-and Wandversinterungen. The main continuation in this area of the cave forms a strong bewettertes bay and canyon system, which was to sail in 274 m depth. This transition system is a promising starting point for further deep thrusts.
echo bay (1634/113, 395 m, -246 m). The Schneepfropfen -65 in depth was time melted away, leaving the small continuation could be driven to the Echo divide. The subsequent steps lead shaft to a depth of -246 m depth and end unschliefbar there. In the middle there is a sequel. Bats live in the shaft, at about -120 m depth, a field mouse mummy was found.
A cave was discovered and incorporated into the Austrian cave register:
night slot (1634/142, 124 m, -99 m). The well is located near the GRUB shaft 109 and on the penultimate day, the research discovered weeks. The shaft is made in several continuing up to 30 m deep pit stops in the depth and ends unschliefbar. At the bottom of the second stage shaft larger pieces of bone were found. Overall, this research
weeks 1,292 m could be measured uncharted territory. between the GRUB shaft 109 and the Echo shaft was down an outside measurement. The location of the treated cavities was measured using GPS.
Summary / Outlook: Mainly
were handled folding back the larger caves in the area where interesting new discoveries could be made. The Torkoppeneishöhle is already very close to the hope shaft horizontal approximately 24 m and 46 m vertical distance separating the two cavities. Furthermore, there is the echo bay very close to the GRUB-bay-109. A combination of these two caves were the research in the deep parts of the GRUB simplify shaft wesendlich-109. A compound of the GRUB-shaft 109 with the Torkoppenschacht (1634/122), the Torkoppen Ice Cave (1634/100) and the hope shaft (1634/115) is still very likely and would result in a cave system about 4 km long with a level difference of over 300 meters. The new coverages show that the area still has considerable potential cave. (Robert Seebacher, 9.2007)
